Veterans invited to see ‘Devotion’ Sunday afternoon

The 2022 movie “Devotion,” which tells the story of a pair of U.S. Navy fighter pilots during the Korean Conflict who became two of the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen, opens Friday at the Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson.

Veterans are invited to attend the matinee Sunday at 2 pm at no charge. Each veteran may bring one guest, and each will receive a small popcorn and small drink. Funding for the veterans and guests will be provided from the State of Iowa Veteran Outreach grant allocation. Veterans should sign in at a table just inside the Sierra door when they arrive.

Greene County veterans affairs director Mike Bierl will provide a short briefing on VA benefits, including the new PACT Act, after the movie. Persons who want more information about the Vets at the Movie event or veterans benefits can contact Bierl at 515-386-5673.
